Proposal for New Residency Work Guidelines

New guidelines have been proposed for work hours for notoriously overworked residents. Proposed by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and published by the American Medical Association, the guidelines are based on studies have shown that overworked doctors are more likely to make mistakes. Also included in the guidelines are recommendations for increased supervision of residents by supervising doctors to help guide their development Check out the AMA Journal article and the Wall Street Journal for more information.
